Yolanda (Walker) Chancellor

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX: Funeral services for Yolanda Walker Chancellor, 51, who died on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in Dallas, TX will be held at 1:30p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Mt. Burner M.B. Church in Pattison, MS with Rev. Ray E. Coleman officiating.  Burial will be in Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. At the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 12:30 until service time at the church.  An Omega Omega ceremony of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., her beloved sorority will be held at noon on Saturday at the church

Mrs. Chancellor was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  She pledged Delta Epsilon Chapter, Alcorn State University, Spring 1993.  She was a Diagnostician for the Dallas Public School district.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey Chancellor, Jr. of Grand Prairie, TX; a son, Semaje Chancellor of Grand Prairie, TX; a daughter, Semya Chancellor of Grand Prairie, TX; step-daughter, Shakayla Chancellor of Byram, MS; her mother, Florene B. (Lester) Hodge of Madison, MS; her father. Jimmy (Linda) Walker of Port Gibson, MS; a sister, Tremicula Tracet Walker of Madison, MS; a brother, Jimmy Walker, Jr. of Port Gibson, MS; maternal grandfather, Arthur Lee Camphor of Jackson, MS; father-in-law, Harvey T. Chancellor, Sr. of Flowood, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
