Willie ‘Po Boy’ Green Sr.

PORT GIBSON, MS:  Funeral services for Willie ‘PoBoy’ Green, Sr., 85, who passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 13,2024, at Mercy Seat M.B. Church with Elder James Devine officiating.  Burial will be in White Hall cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife, Wessie Green; a son, Willie Green, Jr.; his parents, Amelia ‘Polly Devine’ Butler and Roosevelt Green; three sisters, Johnnie ‘Doll Baby’ Hyder, Doris Moore and Willett Brown; and a brother, Benjamin Marshall.

He is survived by a son, D’Angelo Green of Port Gibson, MS; four granddaughters, Tangela Davidson of Lansing, IL, Clara Green of Riverdale, IL, Whitney Brown and Dakota Green, both of Chicago, IL; a grandson, D’Angelo Green, Jr. of Hazlecrest, IL; and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and other relatives and friends including a special niece, Barbara Harris of Chicago, IL.
