FAYETTE, MS : Mass of the Resurrection for Willie Ethel Brinkley, 94, who died Wednesday, October 5, at her residence, will be held at 11a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with Father Anthony Okwum, SSJ officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday, from 1p.m. until 6p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel. Due to recent events affecting the nations, we ask that you take precautions; mask must be worn and will not be provided.
Mrs. Brinkley was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary. She worked for AJFC for many years until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Sallie Nichols and Caleb and Mozelle Churchhill; her husband, Leonard Brinkley Sr.; a son, Luther Brinkley and a daughter, Doreacer Turner, three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Brinkley is survived by three sons, Otis Brinkley and Johnny (Shelia) Brinkley both of Lorman, MS and Leonard (Marilyn) Brinkley, Jr. of Fayette, MS; two daughters, Bobby (Carl) Shaw of Fayette, MS and Debbie (Angus) Fountain of Marrero, LA; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
