Willie B Banks

LORMAN, MS: Funeral services for Willie B. Banks, 74,   who died Monday, December 4, 2023 at Merit Health Natchez Hospital in Natchez, MS, will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, December9, 2023, at Poplar Hill A.M.E. Church in Fayette, MS with Rev. Sabrina Barkley officiating.   Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church.

Mother B, to most was a member and usher at Poplar Hill AME Church and a member of Fayette Court #202 Heroines of Jericho.  She worked at the Jefferson County Hospital and Jefferson County Nursing Home for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Banks, Sr and Mary Washington Banks; a son Undra Lamont Banks; a brother, James Banks Jr. and a sister, Mary Louise Washington.

Mrs. Banks is survived by a daughter, Lashonda Michelle Banks of Fayette, MS; two brothers, Julius Banks and Ricky Banks, both of Fayette, Ms; three sisters, Faye Banks, Cathy Banks and Betty Banks, all of Fayette, MS; one aunt, Katie Washington of Port Gibson, MS three grandchildren Shumon Rankin, Keyshawn Vargil and Ja’Mirah Banks, all of Fayette, MS; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including a special niece, Kimberia Banks Wilson of Redlick, MS.
