Funeral services for Virgie Lou Allen, 89, who died Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Claiborne County Medical Center, will be held at 1p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Hermanville, with Rev. Johnny Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Hermanville Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from noon until service time at the church. Due to recent events affecting the nations, we ask that you take precautions; mask must be worn and will not be provided.
Mrs. Allen was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Hermanville, Ms.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doc Ellis and Ada Washington; a son, Kevin Allen; a daughter, Bonnie Patton; 4 brothers, Bennie Jackson, James W. Washington, Louis E. Washington, Carl R. Washington; 5 sisters, Marie Williams, Katie B. Washington, Louise Washington, Mary Taylor and Inez Washington.
Mrs. Allen is survived by a daughter, Loren Patton Jeffries of Brownstown, MI; a son-in-law, Kent Jeffries of Brownstown, MI; a sister, Eristine Washington of Pattison, MS; a brother-in-law, William Taylor of Chicago, IL; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
