Shirley (Jones) Drayton

FAYETTE, MS:  Funeral services for Shirley Drayton, 71,   who died Tuesday, May 30, at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, MS, will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Greenleaf Baptist Church in Harriston, MS with Rev. Elbert Eakins officiating.   Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Drayton was a member and usher at Greenleaf Baptist Church.  She worked at LeTourneau, Corp. for over 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Q.C. Jones, Sr.

Mrs. Drayton is survived by her mother, Ruby Jones of Fayette, MS; a son, Sheldon A. Jones, Sr. of Fayette, MS; a daughter, Feneiker Jones of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers, Q.C. Jones, Jr. of Bowie, MD and Derrick Jones of Vicksburg, MS; two sisters, Josetta Jones of Chicago, IL and Frances Lawson of Mundelein, IL; three grandchildren, Sheldon Jones, Jr., Kahidreuna Jones and Deonte’ Jones;  and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
