LORMAN, MS: Funeral services for Samuel L. Bell, 66, who died Saturday, June 29, at University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, will be held at 1p.m., Sunday, July 7, at True Faith Church with Pastor Charles Dotson officiating. Burial will be in the Bell’s Family Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Sunday, from noon until service time at the church.
Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents, Mack M. Bell and Dorothy Payne Bell; and a brother, Mack Bell.
Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Velma Bell of Lorman, MS; three sons, Eric Bell, Desmond Bell and Demond Bell, all of Lorman, MS; two daughters, Tyrise Jackson Evans and Lashonne Reynolds, both of Lorman, MS; five brothers, Earnest Bell of Haywood, CA, Melvin Bell of Jackson, MS, Calvin Bell and Jerry Bell, both of Vicksburg, Ms and Michael Bell of Port Gibson, MS; four sisters, Catherine Slaughter, Esther Williams, and Stephanie Lowe, all of Vicksburg, Ms and Shirley Miller of Bolton, MS; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a number of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
