LORMAN, MS: Funeral services for Robert L. Williams, Jr., 61, who died Sunday, July 28, at the V.A. Hospital in Jackson, MS, will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, August 3, at the Jefferson County High School Auditorium with Rev. Frank Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Travelers Rest Cemetery in Rodney, MS with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home chapel and Saturday, from 10a.m. until service time at the auditorium.
Mr. Williams was a member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Rodney, MS. He worked at Alcorn State University in the College of Agriculture and Applied Science as a Ag. Farm Program Assistant for over 30 years. He was retired from the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Williams Sr. and Wilma McGee Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by two sons, Robert L. Williams III and Desmond Williams, both of Fayette, MS; two daughters, Atrice King and Shareika Williams, both of Fayette, MS; two brothers, Philvester (Joyce) Williams of Terry, MS and Dennis (Angela) Williams of Vidalia, MS; two sisters, Sheila (Samuel, Jr.) Brinkley of Lorman, MS and Meshell (Corey) Williams-Smith of Jackson, MS; seven grandchildren; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
