Robert Lee Shoulders was born August 7, 1963, to the late Fannie Mae Shorter Shoulders and stepfather, Chatman Shoulders. Robert was the twelfth of thirteen children. Robert accepted Christ at an early age, uniting with Mt. Olive Baptist Church and later united with Love, Charity, and Hope located in Jackson, Mississippi under the leadership of Pastor McRay Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father, John Griffin, four sisters- Janie Epps, Annie Mae Walker, Fannie Lee Shoulders, and Lillie Obie, two brothers- Jim Shoulders and John S. Davis Sr.
Robert was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend who cherished his loved ones unconditionally. For over 20 years, Robert worked hard at a utility construction company, honing his skills and providing for his family. In his free time, Robert loved to express his creativity by decorating his cars and homes. He was known for his outgoing personality and willingness to lend a helping hand, whether it was recommending the best restaurant or assisting someone in finding a new home. Robert's life was guided by his deep faith, and his favorite scripture was Psalm 91:1-2, which spoke to his trust in the Lord. Outdoorsy and family-oriented, Robert radiated warmth, compassion, and an easy-going spirit that endeared him to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of unwavering love and support will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
