REYNOLDSBURG, OH: Graveside Services for Robert L. Barnes, 75, who passed on Labor Day, September 2, 2024 in Reynoldsburg, OH will be at 11a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Pine Grove Cemetery with Elder James Devine officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 4p.m. until 6p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel
He was born on January 14, 1949 in Port Gibson, Mississippi to Frank and Verla (Warner) Barnes. Robert was a graduate of Addison High School in Port Gibson, and kept in touch with many of his classmates. Robert served honorably as a Sergeant in the Army and maintained military tanks and played baseball for the military as well. He worked as a Foreman of Material Handling for Crane Plastics for 36 years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Wendell Barnes Sr. and Frank Barnes Jr.; step-mother, Anna Barnes; two sisters-in-law, Annette "Susie" Barnes and Patty Barnes.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jo Anne "Jodi" (Collier) Barnes; his sons, Robert (Felicia) Cauley, Troy Barnes and LeAngelo Barnes; sister, Mattie Barnes, Mississippi; brother, Melvin Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
