Preston Phillip Weddington

PORT GIBSON, MS: Funeral services for Preston Phillip Weddington, 68, who died Saturday, October 19, 2024, at his resident, will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Mt. Olive M.B. Church with Dr. Rev. Ray Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Carbondale Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 10a.m. until service time at the church. 

Mr. Weddington worked at Alcorn State University as a painter for many years.  He was a member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus Jones and Mattie Weddington; a brother, Reuben E. Weddington and a sister, Carol Weddington.

He is survived by two brothers, Carl Weddington of Baton Rouge, LA and Lonnie Weddington of Port Gibson, MS; two nephews, Marlon Weddington and DeShawn Weddington; four nieces, Charo Weddington, Chandra Riley, Kametris Weddington and Geneiiah Weddington; and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
