Paul Douglas Turnipseed

PORT GIBSON, MS: Graveside services for Paul Douglas Turnipseed, 64, who died Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his resident will be held at 11a.m, Saturday, September 27, at Mercy Seat M.B. Church with Rev. Frank McGriggs officiating and Rev. David Hayes will do the eulogy.  Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Turnipseed was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie Howard Turnipseed, Jr. and Hattie Mae Anderson Turnipseed; two brothers, Johnie Howard Turnipseed III and Gregory Turnipseed; and three sisters, Deborah Ross, Shantell Turnipseed and Wanda Faye Turnipseed.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Turnipseed of Vicksburg, MS; two sons, Johnie T. (Tiffany) Turnipseed of Orlando, FL and Rakim K. (Kenyatta) Turnipseed of Cream Ridge, N.J.;  two sisters, Carolyn (James) Turnipseed Miller of Princeton, TX and Myra (John) Turnipseed Storks of Port Gibson, MS; six aunts, Lucille Hyder, Shirley Wilson, Mary Young, Charlene Anderson and Wanda Anderson, all of Port Gibson, MS and Emma Anderson of Silver Spring, MD; two uncles, Stanley Anderson of Cleveland, OH and Sylvester Anderson of Port Gibson, MS; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
