Melissa (Ruffin) Kilcrease

PORT GIBSON, MS:  Funeral services for Melissa Kilcrease, 75,  who died Tuesday, April  11, at her resident,  will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Second Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Thompson Memorial Garden cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday from 10a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Kilcrease was a member and usher at Magnolia M.B. Church until her health failed her.  She worked as a custodian at A.W. Watson for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Louise Monroe Ruffin; her husband, Eddie Kilcrease; a grandson, Dan’tavious Hyder and a sister, Annie Bell Carroll.

Mrs. Kilcrease is survived by a son, Damion Ruffins; two daughters, Christine Watson of Pattison, MS and Shonda Hyder of Fayette, MS; two sisters, Margarite Ruffin of Indianapolis, IN and Archie Lee Fleming of Florida; two brothers, Bennie Ruffin and Dannie L. Ruffin, both of Indianapolis, IN; and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including two special grandchildren, Courtney Goldsberry of Vicksburg, MS and DKayla Ruffins of Louisiana.
