PORT GIBSON, MS: Funeral services for Mayola Yarbor Brown, 59, who died Friday, December 12, at River Oaks Merit Health in Flowood, MS will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Mt. Burner M.B. Church in Pattison, MS with Rev. Ray Earl Coleman officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 19, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 10a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Luelicious Yarbor and Mildred Sago Yarbor; and three brothers, Harold Biggs, James Yarbor and Eddie Yarbor.
Mrs. Brown leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Anthony Brown of Port Gibson, MS; a daughter, Latonia Smith of Lorman, MS; seven sons, Brian Yarbor, Michael Felton, Jr., and Travis Smith, all of Chicago, IL, Kevin Smith, Anthony Brown, Jr., Antwan Brown and Kemaree Brown, all of Port Gibson, MS; four brothers, Charles Reed, Don Rae Reed, Larry Reed and O.J. Yarbor, all of Chicago, IL; eight sisters, Charlene Newman of Maywood, IL, Darlene Woods, Geraldine Hawkins, Brianna Love, Mildred Spears, Arlene Spears and Patricia Thursmond, all of Chicago, IL and Marilyn Stewart of Atlanta, GA; 17 grandchildren, Brianna, Ashton, Sebastian, Elijah, Mya, Tytianna, Dasani, Armani, Ariyella, Ariyonna, Tre’von, Camron, Treasure, Jessie, Alaxander, Anthony and Brielle; two brothers-in-law, James Brown of Fayette, MS and Johnny L. Sassafras of Port Gibson, MS; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Sassafras and Theresa Sassafras, both of Fayette, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
