Funeral services for Lurline S. Robinson-Barber, 71, who died Monday, September 26, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, MS, will be held at 11a.m., Monday, October 3, 2022, at Christian Chapel Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. and Monday, from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be at Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Due to recent events affecting the nations, we ask that you take precautions; mask must be worn and will not be provided.
Mrs. Robinson-Barber was a member of Christian Chapel Church. She was employed with the Claiborne County School district for many years as a Teacher Assistant and a Parent Coordinator.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Laurine Short Sampson: two brothers, Chaz Pierre and Frank Porter and a sister, Jerry Ann Burnett.
Mrs. Robinson-Barber is survived by a son, Benjamin Robinson, Jr. of Port Gibson, MS; five daughters, Stephanie Sampson of Dallas, TX ,Pametrice Robinson, of Port Gibson, MS, Esparanda Sampson-Crump of Vicksburg, MS, Charlestine Robinson of Pensacola, FL, Bennetta Robinson of Seattle, WA; a brother, Albert Sampson of Natchez, MS; five sisters, Doris S. King of Baton Rouge, LA, Shirley Brown and Linda Smith, both of Fayette, MS, Helen Porter of Port Gibson, MS and Anna Mae Cook of Detroit, MI; one uncle, Sandy Short of Bogalusa, LA; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
