Louis Owens

PORT GIBSON, MS:  Funeral services for Louis Windell Owens, 67,   who died Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winnsboro, LA, was held at 10a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Port Gibson, MS.   Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 9a.m. until 9:45a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Owens and a son, Louis Steel.

Mr. Owens is survived by a son, Louis Owens of Pascagoula, MS; his parents, Malcolm and Doretha Parker, both of Chicago, Il; five brothers, Percy Parker and Malcolm Parker, Jr., both of Garland, TX, Victor Parker of N. Aurora, Il, Vincent Parker of Midlothan, IL and Roosevelt Owens of Port Gibson, MS; six sisters, Latoya Lacey of New York, Linda Herrington, Pamela Owens, LaWanda Owens, and Shirley Wren, all of Port Gibson, MS and Rosie Wilson of Vicksburg, MS; two uncles, Mack Parker of Vicksburg, MS and William Jenkins of Bay Springs, MS; five aunts, Doris Jones, Mattie Needham, Eleanor Chambers and Rose Rozier, all of Chicago, IL and Lula Giles of Milwaukee, WI; 3 grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
