Linda Rose (Moore) Wells

PORT GIBSON, MS : Funeral services for Linda Rose Moore Wells, 70,   who died Sunday, December 11, 2022, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, MS,  will be held at 11:00a.m., Saturday , December 17, 2022,  at Waterloo M.B. Church  with Pastor C.J. Johnson officiating.  Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson, in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be held on Friday, from 1:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 10a.m. until service time at the Church. Due to recent events affecting the nations, we ask that you take precautions; mask must be worn and will not be provided.   

Mrs. Wells was a member of Waterloo M.B. Church.  She worked for the Claiborne County School District as a secretary for over 30 years. She was a member of Port Heron Chapter #166A Order of the Eastern Stars.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Moore, Sr. and Catherine Davis Moore; a son, Bruce T. Wells, Jr. ; and five brothers, Willie Moore, Johnny Moore, Jr., Freddie B. Moore, Horace Moore and Vernon Moore.

Mrs. Wells is survived by her husband, Bruce Wells of Port Gibson, MS; two daughters, Demetrice L. Jones (Eric) of Madisonville, LA and Carlaveta R. Saa (Alex) of Cypress, TX; four sisters, Marie Moore-Drew, Hortencia Moore and Carrie D. Braxton, all of Port Gibson, MS and Carolyn Smith of Vicksburg, MS; six grandchildren; and a number of aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
