Laura D (Ashmore) Williams

PORT GIBSON, MS:  Graveside services for Laura D. Ashmore Williams, 85, who died Tuesday, February 21, at the Claiborne County Medical Center, will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, February 25, at Springhill Cemetery with Rev. Frank Curtis officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.  

Mrs. Williams was a member of China Grove M.B. Church.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents George Ashmore, Sr. and Ella Williams Ashmore; her husband, Tommy Williams; a daughter, Barbara A. Williams; three brothers, George Ashmore, Jr., James Ashmore and Luke “Maine” Ashmore; and two sisters, Willie Beatrice Patterson and Pearlie Mae Leggison.

Mrs. Williams is survived by five daughters, Mosella Williams, Catherine Williams, and Sherika Williams, all of Port Gibson, MS; Diann Williams Brooks of Toledo, OH; and Sheryl H. Myricks (Larrell) of Ridgeland, MS; a sister, Bertha Henderson of Peoria, IL; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
