PATTISON, MS: Graveside services for Kattie Tillman Benjamin, 83, who died Saturday, July 2, 2022 will be held at 10:00., Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Rev. Leroy Dee officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel. Due to recent events affecting the nations, we ask that you take precautions; mask must be worn at the funeral home and the cemetery and will not be provided.
Mrs. Benjamin was born November 16, 1938 to the late Pierce Tillman and Verna Tinner Tillman. She was united in holy matrimony to Wade Benjamin, Sr. on May 21, 1955. To this union eleven children were born. Katie took pride in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, uncle and mother of the church. Her love of life and people were apparent in the way she lived her life. She instilled Christ, Faith and Love into her family. She was a member and mother at Whitehall M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wade Benjamin, Sr; two sons, Dannie Benjamin, Wade Benjamin, Jr.; two daughters, Sarah Barnes and Diane Benjamin; 3 brothers, Robert Tillman, Johnny “Teddy” Tillman, Lesly Liggans; and two sisters, Mary Weston and Dorothy Shorts.
Mrs. Benjamin is survived by two sons, Johnny (Belinda) Benjamin and Clifton Benjamin, both of Pattison, MS; five daughters, Jessie Benjamin and Bobbie (Lee) Jackson, both of Port Gibson, MS, Victoria (Michael) Myles of Brandon, MS, Elizabeth (Jerome, Sr.) Myles of Natchez, MS, Shirley (C.J.) and Johnson of Jacksonville, AR; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
