Kathy Woodard Boyd Kelly, known by all as Kathy Gal, was born December 17, 1953 to the late Kelly Dee, Sr. and Helen Woodard. She was adopted and raised by the late Odessa “Mama Deck” Jackson and Sherrod Woodard. She loved life and would help anyone in need. She adopted any child that she came in touch with. She was a member, and usher at Mt. Vernon Burner M.B. Church. She worked as secretary for Charles Johnson, District 5 Supervisor for over 15 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Tonya Boyd of Jackson, MS; a son, Darrius Jokeem Kelly of Pattison, MS; god daughters, Melneka Dotson, Latoya Williams and Katreno and T’Kiyah Young, all of Port Gibson, MS, Shenitha Flowers-Davis, Tamika Flowers and Theresa Hills; a god son, Albert Dotson; a step-daughter, Tasha Kelly of Port Gibson, MS; four sisters, Genieve Hedrick and Ethel Jean Brooks, both of Pattison, MS, Jeanette Dee of Jackson, MS and Lisa Dee of Arizona; 12 brothers, Arthur Camphor and Willie Gibson, both of Jackson, MS, Andrew Camphor of Flora, MS, Darrell Woodard, Kelly Dee, Jr., Robert Earl Dee, Daniel Dee, Joseph Dee and Bobby Joe Dee, all of Pattison, MS, Rev. Leroy Dee of Vicksburg, MS, Eddie Dee of Port Gibson, MS and Jacob Dee of Arizona; a great uncle, Willie Woodard of Louisiana; a great aunt, Louise Sayles Woodard of Vicksburg, MS; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
