Joyce Marie Jones

PORT GIBSON, MS: Funeral services for Joyce Marie Jones, 87,   who died Monday, September 11, 2023 at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS, will be held at 2p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Campbell Chapel Church with Rev. James Jones officiating.   Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Saturday, September 16, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Sunday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Torrain, Sr. and Roberta Young Dotson; her husband, Ples Jones; four daughters, Dorothy McGowan, Bobbie Ann McGowan, Jacqueline Campbell and Joyce Ann Jones; two brothers, David Torrain and Joe Eddie Torrain; a sister, Josephine Woodruff; and two grandchildren, Maurice White, Jr. and Joycette Campbell.

Mrs. Jones is survived by four sons, Carl Campbell, Willie Campbell, and Roy Lee Jones, all of Port Gibson, MS and Elbert Campbell of Utica, MS; four daughters, Charlotte Campbell and Roberta Jones, both of Port Gibson, MS, Ella Dotson and Tiffany Jones, both of Vicksburg, MS; four sisters, Rachel Torrain, Thelma Robinson, Marie Cole and Mildred Torrain all of Port Gibson, MS; 38 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
