PORT GIBSON, MS: Funeral services for Jordan Davis, Jr., 82, who died on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the V.A. Hospital in Jackson, MS, will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2024, at True Faith Church with Rev. Henry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Ashland cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Davis was a member and deacon at Jerusalem Baptist Church and a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jordan Davis, Sr. and Mary Buie; two brothers, Peter Davis and George Young and three sisters, Ruby Davis, Louise Davis and Ethel Watson.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Joanna Davis of Port Gibson, MS; a son, Brian Davis of Port Gibson, MS; a daughter, Angie M. Barnes of Port Gibson, MS; a brother, Walter Davis of Vicksburg, MS; two sisters, Josephine Allen of Henderson, N.C. and Jennie Chambers Jones of Vicksburg, MS; five grandchildren, Terry Barnes, Jr. and Brionna Barnes, both of Port Gibson, MS; Ariana Davis, Amari Davis, and A’Rhiyah Royal, all of Vicksburg, MS; a great granddaughter, Kaylee Barnes of Port Gibson, MS; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
