PORT GIBSON, MS : Funeral services for Johnny Sylvester Jenkins, Sr. 63, who died Sunday, October 30, at his resident, will be held at 2p.m., Sunday, November 6, at New Life Empowerment Temple Church in Fayette, MS with Pastor Lynnell Thompson officiating, Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Sunday, from 1p.m. until service time at the Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Due to recent events affecting the nations, we ask that you take precautions; mask must be worn and will not be provided.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Jenkins; a brother, Marlon McDonald and a grandson, Jacari Claiborne.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by a son, Johnny Sylvester Jenkins, Jr.; three daughters, Natisha D. Moore of Port Gibson, MS, Johnalyn Jenkins of Lorman, MS and Erica O’Quinn of Union Church, MS; his mother, Bessie Mae Jenkins, of Port Gibson, Ms; three brothers, Abraham Wells, Sr. of Houston, TX, Joseph Jenkins, Sr. of Byram, MS and Donald Ray Ross of Dallas, TX; five sisters, Dianne Jenkins, Thelma Dotson, Shirley Middleton and Lisha Jones, all of Port Gibson, MS and Cassandra Buchanan of Vicksburg, MS; a uncle, Washington Wells of Baton Rouge, LA; four grandchildren; ; two great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including a special nephew, Kelsey Dotson, Sr. of Port Gibson, MS.
