Jannie Summers

PORT GIBSON, MS:  Funeral services for Jannie L. Summers, 98,   who died Friday, June 23, 2023, at Chadwick Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, MS, will be held at 2p.m., Friday, June 30, 2023 at St. Peter’s M.B. Church in Pattison, MS.   Burial will be in the church cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Friday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garfield and Everlean Jones;  her husband, Henry Summers;  four sons, John Haywood, Albert Haywood, Henry L. Summers, and Joseph Summers.

Mrs. Summers is survived by a son, Samuel Summers of Port Gibson, MS; four daughters, Johnnie Robinson of Marrero, LA, Laura Summers of Jackson, MS, Jewel Summers of Ridgeland, MS and Everlean Summers Goode of Prentiss, MS; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
