PORT GIBSON, MS: Memorial services for James Haywood, Jr., 68,   who died Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at his residence, will be held at 11a.m., Friday, September 8, 2023,  at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel. 

Mr. Haywood worked at Home Depot in Michigan and Mississippi for many years

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lavern Haywood.

Mr. Haywood is survived by his mother, Katherine Haywood of Port Gibson, MS; his father, James Haywood, Sr. of Belmont, MS; a sister, Cynthia McDay of Port Gibson, MS; a grandmother, Rosie Lee Johnson of Silver City, MS; gods Oster, Tiffany Higgs of Detroit, MI; four nephews, Lennon McDay of Tyler, TX, Dion Haywood and Raphael Haywood, both of Detroit, MI, and Willie Hays of Fort Worth, TX; a niece, Amber Harvey of Port Gibson, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends including a special cousin Deborah Grayer of Chicago, IL; Marchetta and Michael Atkins, and Pete Guido and Polly Hill.
