Jamarcus Fidel Walker

PORT GIBSON, MS: Funeral services for Jamarcus Fidel Walker, 31, who died  Friday, September 6, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Christian Chapel  Church, with Rev. Barry Thompson officiating. Burial will be in McCay Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Walker; grandmothers, Jimmie Lee Fox and Matilde Washington Booker; a brother, Edward Givens; and his great-grandmother, Bessie Archibald.

Mr. Walker is survived by a daughter, Jasiah Walker and her mother Rachel Fisher of Vicksburg, MS; his mother, Helen Porter Walker of Port Gibson, MS; godmother, Ola Mae Sidney of Vicksburg, MS;  three brothers, Corey Porter Jones of Dallas, TX, James K. Porter of Fairfield, OH and Kyan Harris of Chicago, IL; a sister, Tanya Harris Lopez of Chicago, IL; three aunts, Annie Mae Cook of Detroit, MI, Shirley Washington of Austin, TX and Geraldine Lucas of Tampa, FL; five uncles, David Fox of Chicago, IL, Norah (Joyce) Porter and Herman (Patricia)Porter, both of Detroit, MI, Johnny Porter and Ray Porter, both of Port Gibson, MS; special friends/sisters, Lena Marbley and Brionna Barnes, both of Port Gibson, MS; special friends/brother, Gerwonda Marbley, Robert Marbley, Teddy B. Barnes, Jr. and Johnny Barnes, Jr. all of Port Gibson, MS.; aunt/cousins, Linda Ballard Suggs of Atlanta, GA and Patricia Hedrick of Dallas, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including a special nephew, Jacoby Porter of Jackson, MS.
