Hattie Mae Higdon

LORMAN, MS: Funeral services for Hattie Mae Higdon, 84,   who died Saturday, September 2, at St. Dominic’s Medical Center in Jackson, MS, will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023,  at Morningstar M.B. Church with Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will be in Traveler’s Rest Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel from 1 p.m. until 5p.m. and Saturday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Higdon was a member and secretary at Morningstar M.B. Church, and  a member of Alcorn Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  She worked in the library at Alcorn State University and for the Claiborne County School District for over 36 years.

She was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Ada Higdon; and 2 siblings.

Mrs. Higdon leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Hollie Turner of Lorman, MS; a son-in-law, Keith Turner of Lorman, MS a special cousin Henry Shauef of Lorman, MS and a host of other relatives and friends.
