Gloria ‘Nannie’ Gines

PORT GIBSON, MS : Funeral services for Gloria Dean Gines, 57,  who died Friday, June 17, at her resident, will be held at Noon,  Saturday, June 25, at New Beginnings Pentecostal Church, 5088 Hwy 61S, Port Gibson, MS 39150, with Pastor Rufus Edwards officiating. Burial will be in McCay Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 11a.m. until service time at the church. Due to recent events affecting the nations, we ask that you take precautions; mask must be worn and will not be provided.

Nannie was born on February 13, 1965 to the late Allen Henry and Martha Gines.  She attended school in Claiborne County and graduated from Port Gibson High School in 1983.  She never met a stranger and no matter how much she worked your nerves, you had to ‘Love” her.  

Ms. Gines was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Henry and Martha Gines; step-mother, Alma Lou Henry; two brothers, Bernard Gines and Allen Henry Gines; and three sisters, Bertha Brown, Erma Jean Gines and Shirley Gines Watson.

She is survived by a son, Marcus Gines of Grand Prairie, TX; two sisters, Dorothy Henry of Chicago, IL and Josie (Robert) Gines Skinner of Grand Prairie, TX; three brothers, Albert Gines, John Gines and Abe (Pearl) Gines, all of Port Gibson, MS; 5 nieces, 6 nephews, and a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives and friends.
