HERMANVILLE, MS: Funeral services for Ethel Jean Johnson Davis, 67, who passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Claiborne County Medical Center, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6,2024, at Greater St. Mark M.B. Church with Dr. Rev. Ray Coleman officiating. Burial will be in the Jennings cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her mother, Isabelle Scott Nash; her husband, Rufus ‘Booster’ Davis; and a daughter, Kimberly L. Davis.
She is survived by three daughters, Shea (Damion) Gray, Dawn (Torrance) Davis-Carter and Fern Davis, all of Hermanville, MS; four brothers, James Johnson, Michael Nash, and Devin (Sha’Kyra) Nash, all of Vicksburg, MS and Cornelious (Cheryl) Johnson of New York, N.Y.; five sisters, Elizabeth (Jesse) Turnage and Shirley Johnson Turnipseed, both of Vicksburg, MS, Agnes (Calvin) Johnson and Tanya (Dwayne) Melvin, both of Avondale, AZ and Dwana (Isaac) Hasser of Phoenix, AZ; and a host of grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including a godson, Willie Germaine Edwards of Austin, TX.
