PATTISON, MS : Funeral services for Ethel Jean Beasley Brooks, 74, who died Monday, September 26, at the Claiborne County Medical Center, will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Mt. Burner M.B. Church with Rev. Ray Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Whitehall Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc, in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 10a.m. until service time at the church. Due to recent events affecting the nations, we ask that you take precautions; mask must be worn and will not be provided.
She has been employed as an Administrative Assistant with Medgar Evers Health Center, Grand Gulf Nuclear Power Station, and Alcorn State University. She was a member of Mt. Burner Church.
Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her parents: Eugene “Nick” Beasley, Fannie and J.P. Collins; her husband, Charlies Brooks; grand-daughter Khloe Dotson; Sister, Mary Shelton and non-biological siblings, Daisy Johnson, Flora Tarleton, and Leo Jackson.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Calvin) Richardson of Pattison, MS and Felicia (Arthur) Brandon of Port Gibson, MS; three godchildren who she reared as her own, Demarius Beasley, Shataque Beasley and Gregory Beasley; four sisters, Curley Beasley and Evelyn Beasley Washington, both of Pattison, MS, Gail Beasley Blunt and Gwendolyn Beasley, both of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Willie ‘Sonny’ Beasley of Pattison, MS and Dexter Beasley of Las Vegas, NV; one non-biological sister, Theresa Polk of Chicago, IL ; two aunts, Edith (T.J.)Chipley of Vicksburg, MS and Mattie Jackson of Port Gibson, MS; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
