HERMANVILLE, MS: Funeral services for Dora Mae Phelps, 86, who died Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg, TN, will be held at 11a.m., Monday, December 30, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Hermanville, MS with Rev. Johnny Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Hermanville Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Monday, from 10a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Phelps was a member and mother at First Baptist Church in Hermanville, MS. She worked as a C.N.A. for over 30 years with the V.A. Hospital in N. Chicago, IL as well as working as a Health care worker for Sunset Terrace Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemon Phelps and Ella Ellis Phelps; and a brother, Sharper Phelps.
Mrs. Phelps is survived by two sons, Frank Luster Phelps of Vicksburg, MS and Orlando (Henrietta) Phelps of Hermanville, MS; a daughter, Beverly Ann Phelps of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Bernice Dobbins of Hermanville, MS and Lee Sarah (Robert) Evans of Hattiesburg, MS; a brother, Robert Phelps of Creek, IL; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
