Derrick Ramond Wilson

PORT GIBSON, MS:  Funeral services for Derrick R. Wilson, 36, who died Sunday, April  2, in Jackson, MS will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Ashland  M.B. Church with Rev. Leonard Walker officiating.  Burial will be in the Church cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday from 10a.m. until service time at the church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Nathan Wilson, Sr.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his mother, Lela Heath Ruffin of Jackson, MS; two sons, Demarion Mayo of Silver Creek, MS and Derrick R. Wilson, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; five brothers, Kelcey (Dathne) Heath of Humble, TX, De’Quadrick Scott of Tucson, AZ, LaDarrion Jackson of Jackson, MS, Jacquille Wilson and Joe Nathan Wilson, Jr., both of Hampton, GA; eight uncles, Everett Heath and Charles Heath, both of Port Gibson, MS, Dannie Heath of Tucson, AZ, Johnny Wilson of Bessemer, Al, Percy Davis of Seattle, WA, Jerry Wilson of Swansea, S.C., John Wilson of Jackson, MS and Jeffery Wilson of Dallas, TX; two aunts, Bessie Heath of Port Gibson, MS and Gloria Wilson Turnipseed of Colorado Springs, CO; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
