David Brooks Sr.

PORT GIBSON, MS: A memorial services for David Brooks, Sr., 81, who died Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Merit Health Natchez Regional Hospital in Natchez, MS will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024.  The Meeting ID: 829 5552 4565  Passcode: 697657.  Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson are in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brooks served in the United States Air Force.  He worked at Marcus Furniture in Vicksburg, MS as a top salesperson for many years.  He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Willie Mae Brooks; and twelve siblings, which include Ralph Brooks, John Henry Brooks, James ‘Duke’ Brooks, Eli ‘Pete’ Brooks, Joseph ‘Bo’ Brooks, Jewel ‘Doll’ Brooks, Charlie ‘Smiley’ Brooks, and Lear Nora Brooks.

Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Dorothy Woods Brooks of Port Gibson, MS; two sons, David (Tamakia) Brooks of Macon, GA; and Derek Brooks of Port Gibson, MS; a daughter-in-law, Mary Brooks of Port Gibson, MS; a brother, George (Gwendolyn) Brooks of Port Gibson, MS; five grandchildren, Robert (Misti) Flowers, Robin Flowers, Derek Brooks, Jr. and Dereneisha Brooks, all of Port Gibson, MS and Ta’Kyla Jackson of Macon, GA.
