David M Atlas

PORT GIBSON, MS : Funeral services for David M. Atlas, 79,  who died Wednesday, November 16, at the Claiborne County Hospital,  will be held at 11a.m., Tuesday, November 22,  at Beechland M.B. Church  with Rev. Frank McGriggs officiating.  Burial will be in the Atlas Family Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson, in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be held on Monday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Tuesday, from 10a.m. until service time at the Church. Due to recent events affecting the nations, we ask that you take precautions; mask must be worn and will not be provided.   

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dalton Atlas, Sr. and Agnes Marshall Atlas; a son, Joe Nathan Wilson; four brothers, Dalton Atlas, Jr., Charlie Atlas, Matthew Atlas and Douglas Atlas; and two sisters, Martha Atlas and Harriette Patterson.

Mr. Atlas is survived by a son, John Wilson of Jackson, MS; two brothers, James Atlas of N. Chicago, IL and William Atlas of New Orleans, LA; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including a special nephew, Tom Atlas of Vicksburg, MS and a special niece, Cathy Thomas of Allen, TX.
