Danny Lee Smith

PORT GIBSON, MS: Funeral services for Dannie L. Smith, 56,   who died Thursday, August 10, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS, will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2023,  at Rose Hill Christian Church with Rev. Walter Chambers officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel from 1 p.m. until 5p.m. and Saturday, from 10a.m. until service time at the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Mack Smith and Mary Jean Minor Smith.

Danny leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Danielle (Rashone) Skinner of Vicksburg, MS; one sister Jacqueline Smith of Lorman, MS; six brothers, Bob Burnett of Baton Rouge, LA; Eddie Lee Green of Port Gibson, MS; Willie Mack Polk of Dallas, TX; Mackroy Smith of Port Gibson, MS; Malcolm Smith of Lorman, MS; and Wayne(Lavora) Smith of McGregor, TX; three grandchildren, Arzarrian Skinner, Denyah Barnes, and Mariah Smith of Vicksburg, MS; a step children,  Ebony Skinner and Ivory Williams; three uncles, Samuel Minor of Chicago, IL, Michael Minor of Galtney, CA and Elvin Jenkins of Huntsville, AL; five aunts, Elsie Walters and Janice Minor, both of Vicksburg, MS, Brenda Minor of Iowa City, IA, Augusta Gadson of Waterloo, IA, and Teresa Minor of San Leandro, CA; He has a host of bonus brothers; Ronnie Polk, Jackie Johnson, Rickey Johnson, Marlon (Ladell) Bruce, Patrick Minor, Albert Rollins Jr; David Lee Watson and a bonus sister Vanessa Chambliss Thomas.
