PORT GIBSON, MS : Funeral services for Charles E. Wren, 71, who died Sunday, October 30, 2023, at his resident, will be held at 1p.m., Friday, November 3, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Hermanville, MS with Rev. Johnny Hughes officiating; Rev. Troy Smith will do the eulogy. Burial will be in Freedman Hall Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Friday, from noon until service time at the church.
Mr. Wren was a member of St. Peter M.B. Church. He worked for the Corp of Engineer for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Wren, Jr. and Christopher Walker; his parents Early Wren, Sr. and Ruby Rankin Wren; three brothers, James Wren, Dorian Wren and Kenneth Wren; and two sisters, Addie Marie Burkley and Selena Edwards.
Mr. Wren is survived by his wife, Alice Wren of Hermanville, MS; a son, Chauncey Walker of Hermanville, MS; a daughter, QuanNeesha Katrice Wren of Hermanville, MS; a brother, Early Wren, Jr. of Pattison, MS; and a number of grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
