HERMANVILLE, MS: Funeral services for Carolyn White Hill, 65, who died Monday, February 27, at the Claiborne County Medical Center will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Freedman Hall M.B. Church with Dr. Hal E. Banks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday from 10a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Hill was a member of Freedman Hall Church, a Past member of Golden Star Chapter #92 Order of Eastern Star, Heroine of Jericho, Benevolent Society, Brotherhood ministries, Claiborne County Missionary Baptist Association, the PTA, NAACP, Port Gibson Football booster club, Claiborne County TRIAD, the Inez Collins Memorial Choir and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Forces.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara White; her grandparents, Allie White and Charlie White; and two brothers, Calvin W. White and James Earl Sayles, Sr.
Mrs. Hill is survived by a son, Darius White of Hermanville, MS; a daughter, Tamara Lucas of Pensacola, FL; her father, Cleo White of Detroit, MI; a brother, Elijah White (Sonya) of Detroit, MI; cousin/sisters, Ruth (Bobby) Washington of Utica, MS and Doretha Vance of Detroit, MI;
