LORMAN, MS: Funeral services for Carolyn R. Odems, 59, who died Monday, January 20, at the Claiborne County Medical Center, will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, January 25, at East Mt. Olive Church in Redlick, MS with Rev. Tracy Collins officiating; Pastor James Burks will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Carbondale Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, from 2p.m. until 5p.m. At the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 9:30a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Odems was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Burks, Sr. and Delois O’Quinn Burks; her husband, Edward Lee Odems and a brother Adrian Burks.
She is survived by two sons, Edwin (Nanette) Odems of Tuscaloosa, AL and Joshua Odems of Lorman, MS; three brothers, Allen (Barbara) Burks, and Dr. James (Arkon) Burks, both of Lorman, MS and Reginald (Priscilla) Burks of Jackson, MS; two sisters, Angela (Wayne) Burks of Chicago, IL and Latasha Burks of Lorman, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including a special friend, Delores Oliver of Fayette, MS.
