Carl ‘Boone’ Wells

HERMANVILLE, MS:  Funeral services for Carl Lee “Boone” Wells, 86, who passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, MS, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 30,2024, at First Christian Church in Hermanville, MS, with Rev. John Eggleston officiating. Burial will be in the Hermanville Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. 

Ms. Wells was preceded in death by his parents, Wash Wells and Ollie Rogers; siblings, John Henry Wells, Julius C. Wells, Charlie Smith, Alma Loften, Carrie L. Wells, Bobbie McGrew, Margaret Smith, Dorothy Smith and Edna Smith.

He is survived by two sons, Corney (Irma) Wells of St. Louis, MO and Ronald ‘Buddy’ Wells of Hermanville, MS; five daughters, Maggie Jean Wells of St. Louis, MO, Antawnette Hunter of Atlanta, GA, Rosie Rowster of Jackson, MS, Rubye (James) Palmer and Linda Hurston, both of Vicksburg, MS; one brother, Robert Thomas of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Annie Lemon of New Orleans, LA and Ellendale Hyman of Chicago, IL and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including two special nieces, Nakitna Barnes of Clinton, MS and Isabella Sanders of Vicksburg, MS.
