CHICAGO, IL: Funeral services for Caldy Ann Buie, 72, who died Saturday, October 18, in Chicago, IL will be held at 1p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2025, at True Faith Church, 3128 Hwy 61N, Port Gibson, MS with Rev. Charles Dotson officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, October 31, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from noon until service time at the church.
Caldy Ann Buie was born on March 15, 1953, Claiborne County, MS, to the Louise Jenkins Buie and Louis Buie Sr. She was the second of seven children. Caldy confessed her belief in Christ and was baptized at the early age of nine years old at First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Dorsey. Her formative years were spent in the Claiborne County Public Schools District. She attended Richardson Primary School and later graduated from Port Gibson High School Class of 1972. After graduating she relocated to Chicago, IL where she worked at Spiegel, S3 Logistics Group LLC and Gareda Healthcare. She will be lovingly remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart, and joyful spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Buie Sr. and Louise Jenkins Buie; two sisters, Loretta Buie and Linda Buie; one brother, Louis Buie Jr.; and devoted aunts, Annie Wells, Adlean Jenkins, Olivia Walker, “Aunt Bee,” and Mary Buie; and her grandparents, Mary and Bill Jenkins of Port Gibson.
Mrs. Buie leaves to cherish her memory three loving daughters, Nicolle Buie of Minneapolis, MN, Denise Buie and Decola Buie, both of Chicago, IL; one devoted son, Andrew Halliburton of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Bobby Buie of Port Gibson, MS, and Charles (Naomi) Buie of Vicksburg, MS; and one sister, Brenda Buie Carter of Vicksburg, MS; three nieces, Rosner Buie, Carlisa Carter and Olivia Gusta, all of Port Gibson, MS; six nephews, Daryl Parker of Shreveport, LA, Kendrick Parker, Montre Bailey and Kelvin Parker, all of Port Gibson, MS, John Carter Jr. of Vicksburg, MS, and Mankeits Buie of Champaign, IL; and a host of cousins, friends, and co-workers who will miss her dearly.
