Billy Ray Byrd

PORT GIBSON, MS : Graveside services for Billy Ray Byrd, 60,  who died Thursday, July 4, at his resident, will be held at 5:30p.m., Thursday, July 11th, at Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery with Rev. Ray Earl Coleman officiating and Thompson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Shorter and Jessie Mae Byrd Shorter; and eight brothers, Amos Byrd, Andrew Byrd, Otis Byrd, Ronnie Byrd, Stanley Byrd, Willie Byrd, Jr, Douglas Wilson and Devell Shorter; and two sisters, Tammy Wilson and Shantell Howard.

He is survived by a daughter, LaQueena Davis of Port Gibson, MS; a granddaughter, Jadaisha Davis of Port Gibson, MS; a brother,  Leon Shorter of Port Gibson, MS; six sisters, Florene Walker Hodge of Madison, MS, Julia Shorter and Audrey Shorter, both of New York, Reather Byrd, Brenda Banks, and  Briondria Shorter, all of Port Gibson, MS; two aunts, Sadie McGrew of Hermanville, MS and Margie Spiller of Vicksburg, MS;  and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
