FAYETTE, MS: Funeral services for Bettye L. Banks, 74, who died Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS, will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Poplar Hill A.M.E. Church in Fayette, MS with Rev. Charles Barkley officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 10a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Banks was a member at Poplar Hill AME Church. She worked at the Jefferson Comprehensive Health Center as a Dental assistant for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Banks, Sr. and Mary Washington Banks; a brother, James Banks Jr. and 2 sisters, Mary Louise Washington and Willie B. Banks.
Mrs. Banks is survived by two daughter, Kimberla (Patrick) Banks-Wilson of Redlick, MS and Brittany (Frank) Wyatt Brown of Drew, MS; a special friend, Elie Wyatt of Fayette, MS; two brothers, Julius Banks and Ricky Banks, both of Fayette, Ms; two sisters, Faye Banks and Cathy Banks both of Fayette, MS; one aunt, Katie Washington of Port Gibson, MS five grandchildren, Kiandra Wilson and Keldrick Wilson, both of Redlick, MS, Sacorri Brown, Janyiah Brown and Briana Brown, all of Drew, MS; a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Wilson of Redlick, MS and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
