Bettie Mae (Riggs) Wells

FAYETTE, MS: Funeral services for Bettie M. Wells, 86,  who died Friday, June 20, at the Jefferson County Nursing Center in Fayette, Ms, will be held at noon, Sunday, June 29, at Greater Faith Worship Center in Fayette, MS with Rev. J.L. Hammitte officiating.  Burial will be in Fountain Chapel Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday, June 27, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Sunday, from 11a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Wells, Jr.; her parents, J.C. and Martha Riggs; a son, Robert Wells and a grandson, Ketrick Berry.

She is survived by a son, Aurelius (Rose) Wells of Harriston, MS; two daughters, Gloria (Willie) Fells of Harriston, MS and Alma Wells-Berry of Arlington, TX; two sisters, Josie Mae Paige of Houston, TX and Dorothy Johnson of Columbia, S.C.; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
