Arvilla (Granderson) Rankin

PATTISON, MS:  Funeral services for Arvilla G. Rankin, 93,   who died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at her resident, will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Temple Church of Christ Holiness USA, with Minister Claudia Coleman officiating.   Burial will be in the White Hall Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.  Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Rankin; and her parents, Luther and Rachel Newell Granderson.

Mrs. Rankin is survived by two sons, Sam Rankin of Crystal Springs, MS and Shelby Rankin, Jr. of Sunrise, FL; ten daughters, Lela Rankin of Miami, FL, Willie McGee and Mary Smith, both of Richmond, VA, Claudia Coleman and Lucy Rankin Chambers, both of Greenville, MS, Jenell Gilbert of Fresno, CA, Antionette Tolliver O’Quinn of Pattison, MS, Serena Rankin of Jackson, MS, Rachelvilla Rankin-Hewitt of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Luvenia Jones of Lorman, MS; 30 grandchildren and a host of great-grand hildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
