In loving memory of Annie Pearl Willis, 91, who passed peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Brookdale Senior Living in Clinton, Mississippi. Annie loved Mississippi. Port Gibson was her home. Although she lived in Milwaukee, WS for over 30 years, when it was time to retire, she moved back to Port Gibson to be closer to family and friends.
Annie graduated from Jarvis Christian University located in Hawkins, Texas and was an educator in the Milwaukee School System for over 30 years. She was an active member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. She was initiated in the Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter Gamma Pi Sigma in 1963 where she was on the first line inducted to that chapter. Throughout the years she played a significant role in the chapters in Milwaukee and Port Gibson. She has held various leadership positions and mentored many new initiates. Annie loved her sorority and her Sorors. She enjoyed traveling to the various conferences and boules.
She loved to host family gatherings and entertain friends at her home. She loved sweet treats, especially sweet potato pie and her delicious 7 Up cake. She was a stylish and a very confident woman. Annie loved to attend Sunday service and other church ministries. She was faithful and enjoyed her church family.
