Andre Maurice Turner was the only child to the union of Willie and Lela Turner born on November 8, 1947. He received his formal education in the parochial school system. He attended Christian Brothers College High School while in St. Louis, Mo and later earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Alcorn State University.
At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined St. Alphonse’s Liguria “Rock” Catholic Church where he was an active parishioner. During his youth, Andre spent time in Port Gibson where he worked alongside family members in the community. His career began as a mobile radiology technician throughout the St. Louis region. He was employed at John Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis for over 25 years. He also worked at the Claiborne County Hospital, Jefferson County Hospital and River Region Hospital in Mississippi.
Andre transitioned and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
He spread love abundantly which blossomed into a beautiful legacy that will live on through his children; Felicia Habersham of Jacksonville, FL, Bryant Sykes of Springfield, MO, Lea Sykes of Springfield, MO, Anthony Walker of St. Louis, MO, Stoney Walker of St. Louis, MO, Erica Strong of St. Louis, MO, Emmath Echols of St. Louis, MO, Nikita Ellis of Port Gibson, MS, Shawn Walker of Fayette, MS, Michael Ford of Pittsburg, PA, LaKisha Turner of St. Louis, MO, Antionette Turner of St. Louis, MO and a bonus child Dekarius Phillips of St. Louis, Mo; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, family and friends.
