PORT GIBSON, MS: Funeral services for First Lady Daisy Ruth Dorsey Dee, 66, who died Friday, August 29, 2025, at her resident in Vicksburg, Ms, will be held at 2p.m, Saturday, September 6, at White Hall M.B. Church in Pattison, Ms with Rev. Ray Earl Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia M.B. Church Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church.
She was a member of White Hall M.B. Church and 1st Lady at White Hall M.B. Church Philadelphia M.B. Church and Hickory Flat M.B. Church. She worked at the Corp of Engineers as Information Manager until she retired. She later worked at Riverwalk Casino and Good Shepherd. She was a member of the Class of 1977 at Port Gibson High School.
Mrs. Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Alex Dorsey and Para Lee Dorsey.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Leroy Dee of Vicksburg, MS; two sons, Leroy Dee, Jr. of Jackson, MS and Kelvin (Darlinda) Dee of Vicksburg, MS; a grandson, Carmelo Dee of Vicksburg, MS; a brother, Eddie Daniel (Brenda) Dorsey of Gonzales, LA; five sisters, Ora (Johnnie) Guinn and Laura Prather, both of Vicksburg, MS; Brenda (Michael) Bailey, Shelia James and Jerrie (Calvin) Jackson, all of Port Gibson, MS; two uncles, Walter Dorsey of Crystal Springs, MS and P.C. Hedrick of Port Gibson, MS; four aunts, Sarah (John) Johnson of New Orleans, LA, Lucy Dorsey of Pattison, MS, Edwene Davis Person of Suwanee, GA and Mary Davis of Chicago, IL; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including two special nieces, Courtney Bailey and Callisa Jackson.
